Howl’s Moving Castle

I read the book this film when I was a child, in fact, was probably the first book I read. He was so charming and I remember falling hopelessly in love with the character howl. Books like that stay with you long time, so that even now, 20 years, I remember with very fond memories indeed.

Anyway, it was a dream come true when Jonathan Ross said his release on the big screen. Of course not Howl s Moving Castle remember the story as if I had read the book yesterday, but most of Saturday was very good to me. Its an oddball of a story - but as with the book that captured the front.

The characters were rich and chew. I can not fault in any way.

But please, do not see the movie until you have read the book … It is a wonderful book, and should not be replaced by an animated film.

I guarantee you thank me for it.

Jin-Ro: The Wolf Brigade

Jin-Ro: The Wolf Brigade At the end of Favored Mamaru Oshii s science fiction stories, Jin-Roh brings us a story of trust, loyalty, action and political intrigue all masterfully wrapped around a slightly distorted interpretation of Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. When Production IG’s name is attached to a project you know you are guaranteed the highest quality of animation, and Jin-Roh is no exception. In fact, I would go so far as to say that this probably was more visually impressive world of computerized Ghost in the Shell.

His meticulous attention to detail and fluid animation that lets you forget you’re watching an animated film. It is amazing to me that a film of this caliber, has apparently slipped under the radar animation because he never seems to ever mention the lists of the best animes are published. I hope to correct this version, as Jin-Roh deserves to be mentioned in the same category as Akira, Ghost in the Shell and the works of Studio Ghibli.

Brick Oh God, who has spent … my mom told me one day I can not decipher what young people are saying. I can see his lips moving and hear the words, but …… and I know the jargon is supposed to be part of the fun, but actually plays a big part here and a large part of the film completely incoherent.

This aligns with the main characters’ attitude ‘is interesting for a while but soon loses its appeal. There is no substance attitude. This slang and is IMHO a “emperors clothes” of the film …. tell me, oh tell me please, I’m not the only one who thinks this movie sucks!

Bon Voyage

Bon Voyage Set during the Nazi invasion of Paris, Bon Voyage’s plot revolves around a beautiful French actress, Viviane, played by a of Isabelle Adjani, her childhood friend, the young struggling writer Frederic (Gregori Derangere) that has the blame for the murder committed Viviane, and heavy water, a substance that can make or break the war if it falls into the wrong hands. Gérard Depardieu, Virginie Ledoyen beautiful and Adjani, among others, give beautiful performances, and actor Peter Coyote is surprisingly good as an American journalist cum Nazi officer, one of the many men who fell at the feet of Viviane.

Although perhaps not as accomplished as director Jean-Paul Rappeneau the previous film Cyrano de Bergerac, Bon Voyage is still a very enjoyable film that satirize a difficult period in the history of France nice. A must, especially if they are Adjani and Depardieu fan.

This Is England

This Is England Not sure, but I think Shane Meadows has done it is a semi-autobiographical piece. Therefore, we have very effective attention to detail and another 80 Meadows film that reflects reality. Story revolves around a 12 years boy who is small for his age and has little power in his life - in an accidental fall Gange local skinheads gives it a certain dignity - which already has national pride (his father was killed in the Falklands) but, unfortunately, in a more “radical” skinhead that encouraged racism and white pride culture.

Everything ends badly as expected, but you still have a glimmer of hope. Very accurate in my opinion - the company at the time in fact many consider useless. There are moments of humor, irony, sadness and a violent incident, but not free.

Quality but not a classic.

Brick The establishment of this film and the characters are incredible. A very masochistic happens all the movie villains get beaten by unfrightening. A Goth type’Pin spots “that is about ten and lives at home with his mom.

If you want to see a terrifying villain see drug trafficking ‘Blue Velvet’ The establishment of a campus of fat with 1950 convertible jackets slick hair and baseball? Where is the story, the moral? The conversation was free and indeciferable - Forgiving.

In all became unbearable and I have seen live on the Day of preference.

I totally enjoyed this film, partly because I saw him once on television and wanted to see her again. His truth, this film is very much now, but if you read a bible or any religious text, find words like you, you spoke Wherest, where, and so easy to understand. The Moby Dick morel of this story is to show what happens when you seek revenge and do not use proper first sentence …

“Because if his chest had been a gun, have soared to their heart … and so her anger and obsessive desire for revenge consume it and die trying to get it!

Three men who have led quite different lives come together for the funeral of a mutual friend in this second feature of the writing-direction team Neil Hunter and Tom Hunsinger (boyfriends). Stuart takes the accidental death of his brother, her boyfriend and her best friend to reconsider some of the choices they have made in their lives and in some cases gives them the courage to try things they have never tried before. Stuart brother, Dan (Bill Nighy), is a faithful father and a faithful husband to Judy (Ellie Haddington), which is suddenly tempted by Lawless Heart An exotic stranger (Clementine Celarié).

After the death of her lover Stuart, restaurateur Nick (Tom Hollander) is forced to confront his emotions when he drew a woman (Suki Smith). Concerns wandering Tim (Douglas Henshall) is facing adulthood for the first time when he falls for a girl (Josephine Butler).

Told in three sections, from the perspective of each of the three main characters, this modern romance is remarkable to see how a life can be delicately intertwined and how the simple action by one person can affect many others.

Wolf Creek

Wolf Creek Some people might like this movie. But I was not to make a film like this proves that the writers are just lack of good ideas for the real entertainment. The brutality of this film was too close to home because this kind of thing really happens in the world.

If this type of movie sparks your boat then you are a very sick individual. Sent to the movies without proper review is not acceptable.

This film will have its own rating is so bad. I do not have the time to give this my opinion.

500 words is not enough ….

The Swordsman III

The Swordsman III A typical Hong Kong court madness starring Brigette Lin. Do not be discouraged by the fact that this is part 3 - like most films of its kind in Hong Kong, there are a lot of strange people jumping in and out of history, along with jumping around the configuration every 5 minutes makes it very difficult to understand. I suggest you simply sit back and enjoy the ride.

Lots of wire-fu, decapitations, pseudo-science fiction traps (a submarine bamboo) and Evil unconsumated love villians (who can spot a mile away because all the female voices are chilling - even for men).

Pulse

Pulse The pulse is one of the movies that really kickstart the popularity of Japanese horror in the West, and is easy to see why. Has the same visual discomfort associated with films like The Grudge, dark timbre and water, the mounting sense of tension that never ceases, and the end is not at all happy! Has some problems though - the most serious is the quality of performance, and the shoddy script.

Most of the young stars are unknowns and show no ability to speak, and the script is clumsy. The concept is great - a young programmer unwittingly develops the latest computer virus that allows the souls of the dead to enter the world of the living, with chilling results. Despite the terror that never triggers then make films, is really scary sometimes, and felt so right to me, although some may not be satisfied.

Overall a nice watch and a clear inspiration for later (better) films in the genre, but not a classic.

This Is England

This Is England A good idea, but dissapointing … First the good: The action alongside Shaun Youg Combo was well executed and well-directed.

The period was well - the farm in 1980 brought some memories! The dissapointing things: Music - or lack of it - had a lot of big issues around that time and none of them have been used - why not? I thought it was a bit of real violence - DISSAPOINTED that the director does not offer more.

However, it is not a bad film, but it could have been much better!
