The Billy Wilder masterpiece, a corrosive black comedy that remains the most memorable assault on the emptiness and vanity of the movie business, stars William Holden as young, down and out screenwriter Joe Gillis. Narrated in flashbacks by the now-deceased scribe, the film unwinds the series of events that left him lying facedown in a pool. Unable to sell his most recent chef-d’oeuvre, and in hock up to his eyes, Joe stash your car in the path of a seemingly abandoned mansion on Sunset Boulevard, while trying to evade the persistence of the men of the assignment.

Closer inspection reveals the decrepit property to be inhabited by grandiose former silent movie goddess Norma Desmond (Gloria Swanson) and her zombie-like manservant Max (Erich von Stroheim). Upon learning that he is a writer, the lonely but still wealthy woman offers to pay him generously to stay at home and work on his “return” script on the life of Salome.

Although spook by the people and surroundings, in desperate straits, Joe takes the job, little suspecting the madness of the netherworld have entered. Wilder’s merciless portrait of the dangers of a profession that trades in fantasy, couples the cynical amorality of the cagily that he was never with the almost psychotic narcissism of the has-been to reveal the vacuity of wealth and the transience of fame.

Seen this before in the movies is the best place for such great films out loud if you want the full effect. The performance is good, the effects are good, the impact is real and it was instead of Hanks.

The only thing I was not happy with ‘good Americans and Germans were all evil “cliche but living in the states during the first Gulf War that I can see that this lie every day to feed and not know any better. Who have benefited from cameos by ‘German’, but maybe thats the soldiers wait too self-obsessed in this country.

Politics aside, this is a must see film that is moving in the right direction.

“Marathon Man” is a typical example of everything that was good about 70’s American cinema. What could have been a routine thriller is high enough for his dedicated cast, clever editing, and refusal to underestimate their audience.Opening with a German who was killed in a car accident and then jump to the mysterious Doc (Roy Scheider ), a covert U.S. operation and then exiled to a Nazi (Laurence Olivier).

It is difficult to see what links these characters Thomas (Dustin Hoffman), a student in training for the marathon, or his French girlfriend (Marthe Keller). Slowly and Chapters meet once the movie is never allowed to require any up.Totally “Marathon Man” is a fascinating thriller.

Hoffman is excellent as the central character bemused that really does not know how or why you’re stuck in this mess and Laurence Olivier is the essence of evil as the sadistic Nazi dentist. There may be some loose ends left in the climax, but it may be too exhausted and excited by this point to the notification.

Great show! It is not very credible and very irritating at times, but overall this is a very good movie to see if you like “escape” for a couple of hours.The nod to the classic of the 70s and 80s in the rock are sometimes very subtle, sometimes very obvious, but so true, and the song reached the end would probably have been a success if AC / DC or something similar had freedom 20 years ago. Jack Black is perfect for the role (as it should have been, as it was written for him) and Joan Cussack is a great support - but I wanted to see her a little slack a little more for the final.

Children do a great job - managing to avoid features that can be cringe inducing exube times on the screen. So go on - the rock of today!

I totally enjoyed this movie, is good in some parts and had the makings of a first class film, had it not been for two things. The first and worst mistake was the casting of Kirsten Dunst as the female lead, she is vicious, who just want to slap her.

Frequency. The second is the toe curlingly cringe making scenes with Susan Sarandon, who is absolutely, totally lost in this film. Orlando Bloom manages a very credible American accent, but aside from a road trip in the last part of the film is not called upon to act a lot.

The movie was OK for one night, when there was nothing on TV.

I rented this after I read the comments because it sounded unintentionally funny. It was. I loved the performance and features wooden cheesy cliché.

I loved the fact that the male Mr called his dad. I loved the fact that the poor in the first heroine did not like the arrogant jock then wealth agree to have a coffee with him anyway. I love how the music is repeated throughout the film.

This is one of the most charming films I have ever seen. Although I have to laugh at the end was really touching. Best of all, the film only lasted 1hr30mins.

Perfect.

This is an excellent Western, directed by John Sturges, who also did “The Magnificent 7″, “The Great Escape”Bad Day at Black Rock ‘and’ In the shootout at OK Corral.” “The last train from Gun Hill” was beautifully photographed in Paramount Vistavision flexible system, which presents the image in a rectangular frame, ideal for television, rather than the more widely used ‘box’ used by most mid west Cinemascope the 50s onwards.

The story is taut and compelling, with Kirk Douglas angry sheriff determined to take the man who raped and murdered his wife, who happens to be the son of his old friend Anthony Quinn. Holes in captivity at the hotel, Douglas had to wait for the train, while around the town of Quinn all men together to prevent them from leaving.

The story is told simply and clearly, with emphasis on the situation of suspense than a lot of action.The cast are all very good, especially the two leads, with Kirk Douglas with a typically intense performance view — face when he realizes that he has captured in the corridor of the hotel. Highly recommended for fans of Western esecially if you like the 50’s “psychological” or “adults” that

Jack Black, after all, Jack Black, so in that sense this movie rocks. However, it was quite predictable and many of the characters were one dimensional.

But hey, as they dicen’esto is not rocket science, “is a bit of fun and if you approach, then it is what will be many. I’m pretty sure you will see some of these schools children rockers again in the future, whether you’re at the Oscars, or the Betty Ford Clinic, I do not know. School of Rock was never going to be Shawshank, but you go, I’m sure.

A bit dated, but now Hal Ashby s sentimental comedy about a couple and their relationship with a young-at-heart octagenarian is short, sweet and leaves you feeling a better person for having seen it.Maude is irreverent, spontaneous and beautiful Ruth Gordon and has her full justice. Lesser directors turn this story would be as absurd and ridiculous. Hal Ashby, as always, is simple and clever in its humor and is able to say much with little.

Some parts of the series seems a little tired after thirty years, but others are hilarious, not least Maude s encounter with the police. Cat Stevens offers a lively soundtrack. In one hour and twenty five minutes you can get two of these in a Lord of the Rings, about 100,000,000 in the change and learn more about life, war and love.

While the original movie was not a jewel, at least the kind of story is interesting and actually makes sense! In this film, Lara appears that in some way by a world he saw only 10 seconds culd disclose the location of the mythical Pandora’s Box.

At the same time, an implacable evil megarich friend (and this may have been his name) is planning on using a Pandora’s box, where it is to create a virus that will kill anyone who does not pay for their antidote.And Lara begins to walk his world to find the box, trying to outwit and escape the evil rich hesitate Oppurtunity for each can not harness the power of the box. In other words, lets take a piece of action in the country before setting piece B in country A, C and D in the country letsthrow without reason.

Yes, the movie really is like playing this.Angelina standout even in this film, since it seems that you are only going through the motions to collect their check at the end all.Even if a fan of the original of the film (which I admit) nothing in this film that can even begin to compete with the first plot above - and that’s saying something.

The understanding of baseball is not essential to enjoy this film, nor for the field of dreams. Now, although not as good as the aforementioned title, basbeball again used as a backdrop to what is actually a really nice story.

For fans of baseball that is not useful to know that Ty Cobb and Honus Wagner are considered 2 of the best players in the game but Ty had a bad reputation (hard Player) Honus and a good reputation (a knight). The contrast in time between now and 1900 is good to see and also the inevitable confusion of a child who moves from one era to another. Great family entertainment.

After the disappointing mess that was the flirts attempt at a Star Trek movie, The Wrath of Khan to reach the essence - a story driven by characters rather than the attempt to surprise and mystery (ie, experimental, special effects ) of the first movie.

This film sees the return of one of the first TV series’ most memorable characters - from the eugenics war refugees, Khan, who want revenge after the crew of Kirk and banished to a distant planet. Burden of action, and of course the legendary cry of Kirk: Khaaaaannn!

This film also has a dramatic climax with the death of a great character. This is where the story really begins.

Ignore the first Star Trek movie and pretend that is not part of the canon.
