En un pueblo de 12 habitantes, el cura debe marcharse, pero antes quiere cumplir su último sueño: celebrar un funeral. Aunque nadie ha muerto, ¿desde cuándo es eso un impedimento para que el vecindario se ponga manos a la obra?
If organising a funeral were like cooking, the one ingredient you couldn’t do without would be the dead body. In a village of just 12 inhabitants, the priest is about to leave, but first he wants to fulfil his last dream: to hold a funeral. Although nobody has died, since when has that ever stopped the neighbours from getting to work?
Si organiser des funérailles, c’était comme cuisiner, l’ingrédient indispensable serait bien sûr le mort. Dans un village de 12 habitants, le curé doit partir, mais veut d’abord réaliser son dernier rêve : célébrer des funérailles. Personne n’est mort, certes… mais depuis quand cela empêcherait les habitants de s’y mettre ?

Miguel Medrano Malo y Lucía Sampedro son dos cineastas que comparten una forma de entender el cine: buscar el humor en lo cotidiano y contar historias con algo que decir. Se conocieron trabajando en MARCHARSE, dirigido por Miguel y producido por Lucía. Desde entonces han desarrollado ¿Hay algún muerto en la sala?, coproducción España-México beneficiaria de Ibermedia Next, ICAA e IVC. Ahora preparan El Club de la Ducha, su tercer cortometraje juntas. Y después, ya veremos en qué se meten.
Miguel Medrano Malo and Lucía Sampedro are two filmmakers who share the same way of understanding cinema: finding humor in everyday life and telling stories that have something to say. They met while working on MARCHARSE, directed by Miguel and produced by Lucía. Since then, they have developed Is There a Dead Person in the Room?, a Spain Mexico co production supported by Ibermedia Next, ICAA and IVC. They are now preparing The Shower Club, their third short film together. And after that, we will see what they get themselves into next.
