Maya tiene 8 años y una relación con su familia distinta a la del resto de niños: su padre está en la cárcel. En la historia, Maya experimentará por primera vez un sentimiento de ausencia. El apoyo de su madre y una canción harán que se sienta un poco más cerca a él.
At just eight years old, Maya’s life is already different from that of other children: her dad is in prison. Throughout the story, Maya begins to understand what it means to miss someone for the first time. Her mother’s support and a song will make her feel a little bit closer to him.
Maya a 8 ans et une relation avec sa famille différente de celle des autres enfants : son père est en prison. Dans l’histoire, Maya ressentira pour la première fois le sentiment de l’absence. Le soutien de sa mère et une chanson l’aideront à se sentir un peu plus proche de lui.

Lucía Iraburu se graduó en Comunicación Audiovisual por la Universidad de Navarra en 2026. Debuta como directora con Maya, cortometraje de ficción que nace como su Trabajo de Fin de Grado y que coescribió junto a Sofía Bergasa. La obra recibió el Premio a Mejor Dirección del jurado de la Universidad de Navarra.
Lucía Iraburu graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Navarra in 2026. She makes her directorial debut with Maya, a fiction short film co-written with Sofía Bergasa as her final degree project. The film was awarded Best Director by the University of Navarra jury.
Lucía Iraburu a obtenu son diplôme en Communication Audiovisuelle de l’Université de Navarre en 2026. Elle fait ses débuts en tant que réalisatrice avec Maya, un court métrage de fiction qui est né comme son Travail de Fin d’Études et qu’elle a co-écrit avec Sofía Bergasa. L’œuvre a reçu le Prix de la Meilleure Réalisation du jury de l’Université de Navarre.
