Rakesh Narwani es cineasta andaluz de origen indio, ha dirigido los cortometrajes Clóset con Pepe Viyuela, y Black Bass con Antonio de la Torre, que han obtenido una veintena de premios en festivales entre ellos Abycine, Madrid y Málaga. El Bazar de mis padres tuvo su estreno internacional en el prestigioso Black Star Film Festival en los Estados Unidos y ha sido premiado en el Mecal en Barcelona. Actualmente se encuentra escribiendo su primer largometraje de ficción, El gran bazar de mis padres, basado en la historia de su familia y que cuenta con la co-guionistas Marina Parés, el apoyo del Festival de Málaga con las Ayudas al desarrollo, así como el de Cambio de Plano, iniciativa de Dama y Netflix para visibilizar la diversidad en el audiovisual Español.
Rakesh Narwani is an Andalusian filmmaker of Indian origin, who has directed the short films Clóset with Pepe Viyuela, and Black Bass with Antonio de la Torre, which have won around twenty awards at festivals including Abycine, Madrid and Malaga. El Bazar de mis padres had its international premiere at the prestigious Black Star Film Festival in the United States and won an award at Mecal in Barcelona. Currently, he is writing his first feature film, «The Great Bazaar of My Parents,» based on his family’s story, and it features co-writer Marina Parés. The project has the support of the Málaga Film Festival through the Development Grants, as well as the support of «Cambio de Plano,» an initiative by Dama and Netflix to showcase diversity in the Spanish audiovisual industry.
