Saura crea y recupera más de una treintena de imágenes, dibujos y fotografías que imprime, manipula, con las que juega y luego filma, para crear una historia que, si bien recrea la guerra civil española, también refleja los horrores de una guerra universal, desde la mirada de un niño y su entorno.

He has a long and prolific career that spans over half a century. His films have won many international awards and he had been nominated to the Academy awards (Oscars) three times.
